Our Values
AUTHENTIC
We create a space that is safe for you to come as you are and we will do the same as your provider.
COMPASSIONATE
We truly listen to you and reflect what we hear from you. This supports our ability to meet you where you are.
TRANSPARENT
We let you know how your treatment is informed and offer you relevant resources and information as requested.
INCLUSIVe
You are welcome here. You will be respected and valued in your own right. It is safe to explore all dimensions of you.
Our Mission:
We create a safe space for you to explore yourself. We do so actively and encourage self-compassion. We support your ability to give yourself permission to identify and prioritize your needs. We honor that healing is not linear or a place to strive for perfection. It is a process. We view this process through the holistic lens of wellness and strive to support your ability to meet your goals.
Our Why:
We have worked in major academic medical centers following patients from the Intensive care unit —> Acute care unit —> Intensive inpatient rehabilitation —> Intensive outpatient rehabilitation. Sometimes the pathway is shorter. We HEARD you when you shared that it was re-traumatizing to work with the same provider in the same hospital where you have had some of your most challenging days. And we decided that it was important to provide health and rehabilitation psychological care in a therapeutic outpatient setting. We have been successfully doing this work outside of hospitals for over 7 years and counting. We appreciate the many challenges associated with adjustment AND hope to help you find meaning in both the journey, and the hoped for destination.

“I would refer clients to Dr. Hawes' care with great confidence that they will be in skilled and compassionate hands.”
Dr. Hawes is the rare clinician who combines expert and evidence-based care with a keen appreciation for the humanistic and patient-centered facets of care. In addition to being well-versed in treatment of depression and anxiety, she has advanced skills in treating patients coping with injury/illness, adjustment to life transitions, health care provider work efficiency/stress/burnout, managing uncertainty, and grief/existential issues. As a female provider of color, she is especially attuned to the needs of clients from underrepresented and diverse backgrounds whose mental health concerns are often compounded by a multitude of complex psychosocial and relational stressors.
